Wrapping up Arm Mbed Connect for 2017 in Tokyo, Japan

Our final Mbed Connect for 2017 took place last week, as the team welcomed a sold out crowd to the Tokyo Conference Center on December 8th. Held simultaneously alongside Arm Tech Symposia Japan, Mbed Connect hosted a range of partner demos in our exhibition area, as well as a hugely successful Mbed Cloud workshop. Attendees received our exclusive Mbed Cloud development board and the chance to learn one-on-one, directly from the Mbed experts.

Our VP of Marketing and Sales, Michael Horne, also had the honor of giving an IoT Keynote speech shortly before the attendees spread out to various breakout sessions. His keynote, titled "The Road to 1 Trillion Devices: Simple, Secure and Scalable", was well received and generated a lot of buzz regarding Arm Mbed's path to creating, connecting, securing and managing an ever-increasing number of IoT devices worldwide.

As they filtered between sessions, the Mbed exhibition area welcomed a huge amount of attendees. A variety of demos showcased use cases across multiple verticals, including an environmental monitor and a retail case. Our Mbed VR experience was also on display, transporting visitors to the Arm Atrium in Cambridge as they scrolled through the range of Mbed Enabled development boards.

One of the most anticipated sessions in the afternoon was Director of Product Management Shiv Ramamurthi's Mbed Edge talk, in which he discussed connecting legacy devices to the IoT, a serious challenge that many large companies are currently struggling to tackle.

"We have set out to solve a very difficult problem for enterprises... Managing a huge variety of devices, securely."

He delved into Mbed Edge and how it will open the door to cloud connectivity for legacy devices and enable enterprises to manage, update and control their devices, even when lacking IP connectivity.

And that's a wrap for Mbed Connect 2017! Didn't get a chance to attend this year? Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news.
